Thought I’d add an extra post to today. I have eaten veg today; tomato and onion salad (delicious) with lunch. some raw carrot and lightly cooked veg and a large bowl of iceburg lettuce that I am polishing off now.
It will be interesting to note what will happen in the morning as the book says that the introduction of veg can lead to a couple of pounds creeping back.
I also did half an hour Tracy Anderson DVD and a 25 min run/walk up the BIG hills
Have any of you got the new Tracy Anderson mat work DVD? Bloody hells bells!! Those simple looking arm exercises……..
And I have eaten. I had steak and chicken last night. About 45 yoghurts, eggs and bacon during the day and big prawns in garlic and chilli.
It’s felt weird eating only protein. Even though my stomach has been full I felt strangely empty? Last night I was ravenous and craving salad and veg.
Today, at last I am eating SOME VEGETABLE MATTER. Any vegetable matter. Even grass and leaves.
This is called the CRUISE phase. I am now supposed to happily CRUISE along for the next 61 days alternating pure protein days with protein and veg days. 1/1 – my anticipated weight loss will take me down to 9st 4lbs, my target weight.
I like this diet. It is completely scientific and calculated.
I have decided to do one or two days more on the attack phase. I am retaining so much water -swollen fingers all day yesterday, and still this morning, I don’t feel like I’ve had a good enough result. I must admit I have been eyeing up the bowl of cherries lustfully and dreaming of tomatoes. I think I will go to the cruise phase tomorrow.
It’s really hard eating just protein! Much harder than I thought but really not impossible. I have had umpteen yoghurts which must be good for my friendly flora!! No fat tums!! But boy do I miss salad. We eat salad every day and I love it. Can’t wait to crunch some cold lettuce.
I had a 45 min run/walk today and it’s really hilly here. Maybe that will help!
It is cloudy here. If we have more rain I am going home……
Lost another pound this morning. I actually am starting to FEEL a bit slimmer. It feels slow but when I think 4 pounds in 5 days, that is pretty fast.
I normally have very poor control when it comes to picking; I pick constantly but I CRAVE constantly. At the moment I am really not craving and I am missing hunger pangs……something Iwas told to expect in the book. Didn’t ACTUALLY believe it though, I mean, that cannot possibly be true! Well, it is. Hardly a tummy grumble at all.
I feel so strangely full of protein even though I have eaten LESS last couple of days, that I don’t really feel hungry.
Word of advice. If you are thinking about starting this diet, remember that you have to adopt one full protein day a week FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
to maintain all that weight you have lost. Apparently it only bloody works! Amazing.
Sitting here eating scrambled eggs with chilli, quark, smoked mackerel and a tiny squidge of lime. Had my 45min brisk walk with the dog. Wow, having an animal to walk makes the exercise bit sooooo much easier as I HAVE to walk her every day. ♥ GOOD DOG! ♥
Don’t know what’s gone wrong but I put ON a pound today. Not very happy about that. I must have done something wrong yesterday, need to investigate in the book.
I had quite a lot of yoghurt, ‘0’ fat of course and a super large skinny late from Starbucks in the morning. But apart form that I just had protein – meat and fish and the prescribed dose of oat bran.
Another strange thing, I appear to have insomnia back! Last 2 nights I have found it really hard to sleep, which I haven’t experienced for a long time.
I have had energy, haven’t felt sluggish at all really but boy do I feel weary today from lack of sleep……..

Having started the diet today, this very morning, I was a bit anxious really. I have never tried a proper ‘diet’ before. I don’t know if I will have the will power to see it through or whether it will even work on me?
is the word on my lips.
I don’t know if many of you will have heard of the Dukan diet? I have only just found out myself. So I bought a copy of the book from Amazon at discount – I thought, ‘well, it’s only £4.99, not too much to spend if it’s a waste of time’
It is in the news at the moment as Kate Middleton is reported to have undertaken the diet for the wedding, with great success.
Basically it is a high protein diet with vegetables and oat bran, but it is of course much, much more complicated and involved than that!
What seems to be most important is the longer term management for permanent weight loss, which Dukan seems to know an extraordinary amount about. He has over 30 years as a diet doc and is a doctor.
